Several of the newly confirmed performers will arrive at the ceremony as nominees. Karol G is among the most prominent contenders, earning nominations for Album of the Year and Best Urban Music Album for Tropicoqueta, as well as Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Coleccionando Heridas.” Her other nominations include Best Reggaeton Performance for “Verano Rosa,” Best Urban Performance for “Dile Luna” and Best Regional Song for “Ese Hombre Es Malo.”
Bad Gyal is nominated for Best Urban Music Album with Más Cara and Best Reggaeton Performance for “Choque.” Meanwhile, Bizarrap and Daddy Yankee are competing for Best Urban Performance and Best Urban Song with “Daddy Yankee: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 0/66.” Lil Supa received a Best Rap/Hip-Hop Song nomination as a songwriter for “Poder,” while Grupo Niche, Luis Enrique and Nathy Peluso are all nominated for Best Salsa Album.
One of the night’s most significant moments will honor Willie Colón, the influential Nuyorican musician widely regarded as a pioneer of salsa. The trombonist, singer, composer, producer and bandleader received the Latin Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004, as part of its first class of honorees, and played an important role in bringing the Latin GRAMMYs to New York in 2006.
The tribute will be led by Ennio Gatti, who worked with Colón as musical director and bandleader. Gatti will reunite the original 13-member band for the performance, celebrating a catalogue and musical legacy that helped shape generations of Latin artists.
The latest announcement joins a previously revealed group of performers that includes Anitta, Carín León, Feid, Daddy Yankee, Rosalía, Juanes, Grupo Frontera, Mon Laferte, Rawayana, Reik, Kany García, Fonseca and The Warning, among others. A separate tribute to Mexican songwriter José Alfredo Jiménez will feature Edgar Barrera as musical producer.
Roselyn Sánchez will return as host for the 10th time. The three-hour ceremony airs live on Thursday, November 12, on Univision, UNIMÁS and Galavisión, with streaming available on ViX. The main telecast begins at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central), preceded by a one-hour pre-show at 7 p.m. ET/PT. The Latin GRAMMY Premiere, where most of the awards are presented, will take place earlier in the afternoon.
