Last Friday (May 31st), Ayra Starr unleashed her sophomore album “The Year I Turned 21.” Through this record, the Nigerian star navigates themes of growth, love, and heartbreak, all accompanied by her signature Afrobeats sound. The Grammy-nominated star showcases a more introspective side, reflecting on her own experiences, “The rollercoaster of emotions and genres intertwined tells the story of a 21-year-old African girl and superstar,” she revealed ahead of the album’s release, “Twenty-one isn’t just an age; it’s a moment of change in your life.”

“The Year I Turned 21” features 15 songs and collaborations with the likes of Anitta, Coco Jones, and Giveon. The album also includes the hit single “Santa” with Rvssian and Rauw Alejandro. The song, which was released on April 4, has already amassed more than 160 million streams on Spotify.

From “Birds Sing of Money” to “Santa,” here’s InMusic’s ranking of the 15 songs from Ayra Starr’s new album.
