Ayra Starr has officially unveiled her highly anticipated third studio album, Starrgirl. Released today via Mavin Records and Republic Records, the 16-track project expands the Nigerian superstar’s global reach with collaborations from ZAYN, Wizkid, Leon Thomas, Rema, kwn, Theodora and Danny Ocean.
Positioned as Ayra Starr’s biggest statement yet, Starrgirl blends Afrobeats, R&B and pop while showcasing the singer’s evolving artistry. The album arrives after months of anticipation and follows a rollout led by the singles “Where Do We Go,” “Tornado” and the Grammy-nominated collaboration “Gimme Dat” featuring Wizkid.
Opening with “Dangerous,” the record moves through upbeat summer-ready anthems and introspective moments before closing with “Hot Body Remix” featuring Danny Ocean. One of the most anticipated songs is “Heaven Baby,” which pairs Ayra Starr with former One Direction star ZAYN for the first time, while “Pressure” reunites the singer with Grammy-winning songwriter Leon Thomas. Rema joins on “Who’s That Girl,” further strengthening the project’s all-star guest lineup.
Ahead of the album’s release, Ayra Starr steadily built momentum through several high-profile appearances. During Black Music Month, she made her Tiny Desk debut, where she premiered “Tornado” live for the first time. Earlier this year, she also made her daytime television debut on The Jennifer Hudson Show, performing “Where Do We Go.”
The new album continues an extraordinary run for the singer, who has now surpassed 7 billion global streams and more than 1 billion YouTube views across her catalog. “Where Do We Go” alone has accumulated more than 1.3 billion worldwide streams, later receiving a remix featuring DJ Peggy Gou.
Ayra Starr also enters the Starrgirl era following one of the biggest years of her career. In 2025, “Rush” surpassed 500 million Spotify streams, making her the first African female artist to have two songs cross that milestone. She later earned her second Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance thanks to “Gimme Dat” featuring Wizkid, won two MOBO Awards—including Best African Music Act, becoming the first woman to claim the honor in 16 years—and secured her first BET Award for Best International Act.
Fans won’t have to wait long to hear the new material live. Ayra Starr is set to perform songs from Starrgirl at London’s All Points East Festival on August 21.
