When Little Mix closed The Confetti Tour in May 2022, it marked the end of one chapter and the quiet beginning of another. For Leigh-Anne, the transition was not rushed. It unfolded in studios across the UK and Jamaica, shaped by new collaborators and a growing clarity about who she wanted to be as a solo artist.

My Ego Told Me To arrives as a confident debut, rich in rhythm and intent. The album leans heavily into Afrobeats, reggae, dancehall and contemporary R&B, paying open tribute to Leigh-Anne’s Caribbean heritage while maintaining a polished pop core. The result is vibrant and high-energy.

The road here was not entirely smooth. After early solo singles like “Don’t Say Love” and “My Love” featuring Ayra Starr expanded her Afro-pop palette, Leigh-Anne recalibrated her strategy. A departure from Warner Records and a new partnership with Virgin Music Group signaled a decisive shift toward independence.

Across 15 tracks, Leigh-Anne balances house-infused confidence, reggae-rooted warmth and sleek R&B textures. Songs like “Been a Minute” and “Burning Up” highlight her instinct for rhythm.

Below, we rank every song on My Ego Told Me To.
