Shakira made her return with her twelfth album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” which translates to “Women No Longer Cry.” The album marks Shakira’s first full-length release since “El Dorado” in 2017. Released through Sony Music Latin, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” features numerous explosive collaborations, including “Puntería” with Cardi B and the Latin Grammy-winning smash hit “TQG” with Karol G.
In the album, Shakira reflects on the events that have occurred in her life and how she has changed since 2017, the year of “El Dorado.” Throughout this period, the Colombian icon faced prosecution for tax evasion in Spain, as well as the vicissitudes of her divorce from Gerard Piqué. When announcing the album, the “She Wolf” singer stated that “making this body of work has been an alchemical process” and that the process of writing and recording helped her to rebuild herself, transforming “vulnerability into strength.”
The album was preceded by eight singles released between 2022 and 2024, including the heartfelt “Acróstico” and “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.” The latter went viral for the numerous diss lines towards her ex-husband. Every single secured massive success, leading the album to achieve RIAA 7x Latin Platinum certification on the same day of its release.
Overall, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” features 17 tracks, including a remix by Tiësto of “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions: Vol. 53” and a vinyl version of “Puntería.” Excluding these last two, we ranked every song on the album.
