When does JENNIE’s Fallen Angel EP come out?
Fallen Angel will be released digitally on Friday, August 28, 2026, through JENNIE’s Odd Atelier and Columbia Records. The project follows weeks of anticipation that began with live previews of unreleased material during her 2026 festival run.
JENNIE first announced the EP on August 20, only eight days before its release. The announcement revealed a concise three-song digital tracklist: “FALLEN ANGEL,” “HEAVEN” and “Less than a Lover.”
The timing makes Fallen Angel a particularly quick rollout. JENNIE had spent much of the summer performing new material before confirming that those songs would form part of an official project, allowing fans to hear pieces of the era before its formal arrival.

The three additional physical-exclusive tracks — “Sweettooth,” “Lockitdown” and “Face” — were revealed on August 23. JENNIE has not announced separate digital releases for those songs, meaning fans looking to hear all six tracks currently need the physical edition.
What is JENNIE’s Fallen Angel about?
Odd Atelier has described Fallen Angel as coming from “a very personal place with the truest self-expression,” calling the EP a “gift from JENNIE, with love.” The description points toward a project designed to capture a more direct side of the artist rather than simply extend the sound of Ruby.
Among the confirmed songs, “Less than a Lover” provides the clearest glimpse into the EP’s musical direction. The alternative-pop ballad pairs restrained vocals with lo-fi guitar and vintage electric keyboards while exploring a relationship that exists somewhere between friendship and commitment.
Released ahead of the EP, “Less than a Lover” quickly established itself as the project’s first major preview. The song opened with 2.261 million Spotify streams, reached No. 1 on iTunes in at least 27 countries and topped YouTube’s worldwide Trending Music Videos chart.
“FALLEN ANGEL” will serve as the title track and the centerpiece of the new era, while “HEAVEN” completes the digital release.
How does Fallen Angel follow Ruby?
Fallen Angel arrives roughly a year after JENNIE’s first solo album, Ruby, which set a new commercial benchmark for the BLACKPINK member. Released in 2025, Ruby entered the top 10 in 19 countries, sold more than 660,000 copies in its first week in South Korea and earned triple-platinum certification.
The album also produced five entries on the Billboard Hot 100. “Like JENNIE” became one of the album’s biggest international successes, reaching No. 5 on the Billboard Global 200 and reinforcing JENNIE’s growing profile as a solo artist.
JENNIE’s 2026 festival era
The EP’s songs were gradually introduced throughout JENNIE’s extensive 2026 festival campaign. She began the run at Governors Ball Music Festival on June 7, where she performed several previously unreleased songs before taking the material to major festivals across Europe, North America and Asia.
Her schedule included Roskilde, Open’er, Mad Cool, Lollapalooza and Summer Sonic, turning the festival circuit into an extended preview of her new musical era. The strategy also gave fans opportunities to hear new material months before the EP’s official release.
What makes the physical edition different?
The Fallen Angel physical edition gives the release an important distinction from the digital version. While streaming listeners will receive three songs, the CD contains “Sweettooth,” “Lockitdown” and “Face,” bringing the total to six tracks.
Preorders for the physical edition opened August 25 at 10 p.m. EDT, giving fans a direct incentive to purchase the CD rather than relying solely on streaming services. JENNIE has not confirmed whether the three additional songs will eventually become available digitally.
