It’s time to update your playlist with fresh new music! Opening our first roundup of the month is Sabrina Carpenter with her brand new single, “Please Please Please.” The song marks the second single from her upcoming album, “Sweet n’ Short,” scheduled for release on August 23rd. The 25-year-old singer is establishing herself as one of the most prominent artists of 2024. Her global hit “Espresso” has spent five consecutive weeks atop the UK Singles Chart as well as seventeen days at number one on the Spotify chart. Now, she gives fans a second taste of what’s to come.
On Tuesday, Halsey unveiled her new single, “The End,” in which she shares poignant stories from her recent years, reflecting on her health struggles with systemic lupus erythematosus and a T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Following the song’s release, Halsey expressed her feeling of being “lucky to be alive.” Proceeds from “The End” will be donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance.
This first New Music Friday of the month will also bring a lot of new albums. Charli XCX drops “Brat,” which the singer describes as her “most aggressive and confrontational record.” The LP was preceded by two singles: “Von Dutch” and “360.” Tems unleashes her debut album, “Born in the Wild.” Released via RCA Records, the album is a journey through her own experiences. Curiously, Meghan Trainor and Kaytranada drop albums with the same title, “Timeless.”
