Aespa delivered one of the standout moments of the 2025 MAMA Awards as the group took home multiple major trophies, including Best Female Group for the second year in a row. Their global hit “Whiplash” dominated the ceremony, reinforcing the group’s continued impact on both the Korean and international charts. During their acceptance speech, the members shared a significant update that quickly sparked excitement among fans. Aespa announced that they will release their second full-length studio album in 2026, marking their first full album since their 2022 debut record. “We are slated to release a studio album next year. I hope you will give it lots of love,” they said onstage, signaling a major year ahead.

The announcement follows a strong 2024 era for the group. Their sixth mini album, Rich Man, debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard 200, becoming aespa’s seventh entry in the Top 50 and their highest-ranking release in the U.S. since Girls peaked at No. 3 and My World reached No. 9. Rich Man also continued the group’s streak of commercial success, surpassing 1.1 million pre-orders and becoming their seventh million-selling project.
