Anderson .Paak and aespa have teamed up for the brand-new single “Keychain.” The song arrives alongside the directorial debut of the nine-time Grammy Award winner, K-POPS!, now playing exclusively in AMC Theatres locations across the United States. It marks the first official release tied to a broader film-inspired musical project.

Built on Paak’s signature blend of hip-hop, R&B, and funk, “Keychain” leans into aespa’s polished K-pop precision without forcing the fusion. The production moves with warmth and bounce, while the hook carries a melodic sharpness designed for replay.

The collaboration also reflects something personal. Born to a Korean mother and African-American father, Paak has often spoken about navigating multiple cultural spaces. K-POPS! draws directly from that perspective. Set against a Seoul-based K-pop competition show, the film explores generational connection and identity through music, centering on a father and son whose relationship unfolds under the glare of performance culture.

That same cross-cultural exchange drives “Keychain.” “K-POPS! is all about connection,” Paak said in a statement. “We come from different worlds, but we’re connected by the same passion for music.” aespa echoed the sentiment, describing the collaboration as both fun and creatively energizing while noting the project’s fresh lens on the global K-pop phenomenon. “Working on ‘Keychain’ with Anderson .Paak was such a fun and inspiring experience for us. We loved being part of a project that looks at K-pop from a fresh perspective, and we’re grateful to contribute our voices,” aespa shared.

“Keychain” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
