Ariana Grande returned to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on November 18, delivering a memorable late-night appearance. The visit comes just days before the release of Wicked: For Good, the second film in the Wicked saga arriving in theaters on November 21. As part of the promotional run, Grande joined Fallon for a new edition of the fan-favorite “History of Duets,” a fast-paced musical segment that blends comedy, pop culture nostalgia, and live performance.

The medley featured Broadway staples, classic pop pairings, and modern chart hits, but one moment stood out immediately among fans: Grande and Fallon’s lively rendition of “APT.”, the 2024 global smash by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars. Their version lasted only about 20 seconds, yet it showcased Grande’s crystal-clear upper register and effortless comedic timing. Fallon matched her energy as they recreated the song’s playful charm. Ariana led the hook with a soaring “Apateu, apateu.”

“APT.” has become a phenomenon of its own. Released as a single from ROSÉ’s debut solo album Rosie, the track quickly dominated charts worldwide. It topped both the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts, giving ROSÉ her second No. 1 on each tally. On Spotify, it set multiple records, including fastest K-pop track to reach 100 million streams and later 1 billion streams in just 100 days. Recently, “APT.” made history once again, becoming the first song ever to surpass 2 billion streams on both Spotify and YouTube in under a year—a milestone unmatched by any other release to date.
