Ariana Grande has won this week’s fan vote by a landslide. In our latest Instagram poll, readers overwhelmingly selected petal as the best new release of the week, giving the pop superstar 81% of the vote and placing her well ahead of a competitive slate of new music.
Benny Blanco’s “Te Olvido (La La)” featuring Selena Gomez and Becky G finished in second with 9%, followed by Cardi B’s “Ah Ha” with 7%. Shaboozey’s ambitious concept album The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales rounded out the poll with 3%, highlighting just how dominant Ariana Grande’s latest era has become among fans.
The result arrives as petal continues one of the strongest commercial launches of 2026. Early projections suggest the album is on course to debut atop the Billboard 200 with more than 300,000 equivalent album units in the United States. If the estimate holds, it will become Ariana Grande’s second biggest opening week ever and the second largest debut by a female artist this year, trailing only Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.
Streaming platforms have reflected the same enthusiasm. On release day, petal generated 62.19 million Spotify streams worldwide, one of the year’s biggest opening totals. Every one of the album’s 12 tracks debuted on Spotify’s Daily Global chart, led by the title track “petal,” which launched at No. 1 with 7.822 million streams. Lead single “hate that i made you love me” followed closely behind at No. 2 with 7.6 million streams, while “kiss me,” “stay,” “oh well,” “big feelings,” and “like i do” all debuted inside the global top 10.
Elsewhere among this week’s releases, Benny Blanco’s “Te Olvido (La La)” attracted attention with its Latin-pop production and collaboration between Selena Gomez and Becky G, while Cardi B’s “Ah Ha” marked her first solo release of 2026, quickly climbing digital sales charts. Shaboozey expanded his musical universe with The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, a cinematic concept album blending outlaw country, hip-hop and Americana storytelling.
