Ava Max takes the crown for the best new release of the first New Music Friday of July 2025. As usual, we conducted a fan poll on our X/Twitter account, asking followers to choose their favorite song or album of the week. “Wet, Hot American Dream” emerged as the top pick, securing 54% of the total vote. A true summer pop anthem, the track serves as a single from Ava’s upcoming album Don’t Click Play.
It’s not the first time fans have shown their unwavering support for the 31-year-old singer. In May, Ava released “Lovin Myself,” which was also voted the best new release of the week with an impressive 82% of the vote.

This week, Ava outperformed several other notable releases. Kesha dropped her first independent album, Period, which earned 23% of the vote. YoungBoy Never Broke Again released 10 tracks from his upcoming album MASA (an acronym for “Make America Slime Again”), landing in second with 15%. Rounding out the poll was Zach Bryan’s 3-track project Streets of London, which received 8%.
