Charli XCX is turning fans into creative directors. Just one day after announcing her upcoming album Music, Fashion, Film, the British pop star unveiled an interactive cover generator that allows listeners to create their own version of the project’s artwork.

Sharing the tool across social media on June 2, Charli posted a simple prompt: “who’s yours?” Alongside the message, she directed fans to mymusicfashionfilm.com, where users can upload their own images and generate personalized covers inspired by the album’s official artwork.

The concept mirrors the album’s central theme. While the original cover pays tribute to three influential figures from different creative worlds — John Cale, Marc Jacobs, and Martin Scorsese — the new generator invites fans to choose their own icons from music, fashion, film, or any combination of the three.

It did not take long for the internet to embrace the idea. Within hours of the website launching, social media feeds were flooded with custom versions of the cover. Some fans replaced Charli’s selections with pop legends such as Lady Gaga and Britney Spears, while others highlighted personal favorites from cinema, fashion, and alternative music.

The campaign arrives amid growing anticipation for Music, Fashion, Film, which is scheduled for release on July 24. Charli officially announced the project on June 1, revealing that the album will contain 11 tracks with a total runtime of 30 minutes and five seconds. Previously released singles “Rock Music” and “SS26” are both included on the tracklist.

Unlike many artists who attempt to recreate the formula of a breakthrough era, Charli has repeatedly emphasized that this record represents a deliberate shift away from BRAT. In a TikTok posted before the announcement, she told fans the new material sounds “really different” from its predecessor and acknowledged that not everyone who embraced BRAT will necessarily connect with what comes next.

The strategy carries extra weight because of what BRAT achieved. Released on June 7, 2024, the album became a commercial and cultural phenomenon, debuting at No. 1 in the U.K. and No. 3 on the Billboard 200, the highest-charting debut of Charli’s career in the United States. The project later won three Grammy Awards and inspired the “Brat Summer” movement that dominated pop culture throughout 2024 and beyond.
