We’re just a few days away from hearing Clairo’s new album Charm, set to drop this Friday. Serving as the follow-up to her 2021 LP Sling, Charm marks an exciting new chapter in Clairo’s career. In a recent interview with Crack Magazine, the “Sofia” singer discussed her upcoming album and her evolution from a viral teen sensation to a mature pop star.

Talking about Charm, Clairo revealed the reason behind the album’s title: “Charm is a feeling you have,” she explained. “When you’re charmed, it’s that perfect blend of being goofy-eyed over a person – platonically, romantically – and not knowing how long it will last.”

Charm is significant as it will be Clairo’s first album as an independent artist following her departure from Republic Records, which released her sophomore album Sling. Described as “a collection of warm, ’70s-inspired grooves that move lithely between jazz, psychedelic folk, and soul,” Charm has already captivated fans with its singles “Sexy To Someone” and “Nomad.” Clairo herself, alongside Leon Michels, handled the album’s production, showcasing her multifaceted talent.

In support of Charm, the 25-year-old singer has announced two residencies in September: one in Los Angeles and one in New York.
