Demi Lovato is wasting no time setting the tone for her next musical chapter. Fresh off the release of her dance-pop single “Fast,” the GRAMMY-nominated singer has teased the music video for her upcoming second single.

“I just shot the music video for my second single,” Lovato revealed. “My knees were black because I was dancing so hard — on the ground, on the table, everywhere. There was a stripper pole. I can’t [dance] on a stripper pole, but I made it look like I could.

The statement paints a vivid picture of a high-intensity shoot that matches the unapologetic energy of her new sound. Released August 1 via Island Records, “Fast” marked a decisive turn toward club-ready dance-pop, produced by Zhone, who has previously worked with the genre’s biggest names like Kylie Minogue, Troye Sivan, and Kesha.

“Fast” was accompanied by a music video directed by Daniel Sachon. Now, with her second single on the horizon, fans are expecting that same boldness amplified by even more striking choreography and visual spectacle.

The lead-up to this new phase has been equally deliberate. On July 9, Lovato reignited excitement by reposting a 2016 tweet that read, “F**k this… I’m back b—s. And I’m coming back more honest than ever.” She followed with cryptic photo teasers — including a shot in a backless black dress — and wiped her Instagram clean, signaling a hard reset ahead of her ninth studio album.

Lovato’s recent shift into dance-pop marks her latest reinvention in a career defined by fearless evolution. Holy Fvck leaned heavily into rock and pop-punk, exploring rage, recovery, and identity with raw intensity, earning praise from critics and debuting in the Billboard 200 Top 10.

In recent days, Demi Lovato has been particularly active. At the opening night of the Jonas BrothersJONAS20: Greetings from Your Hometown Tour on August 10 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the band thrilled fans with a surprise appearance from Lovato — reuniting the former Camp Rock co-stars in a moment brimming with nostalgia and emotion. Together, they launched into a medley of Camp Rock classics, kicking off with “This Is Me,” followed by a moving duet of “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.”
