A new chapter in Drake’s ICEMAN rollout is unfolding in real time—and it’s happening on the streets of Toronto. On April 20, the rapper unveiled a massive ice installation concealing the album’s release date, prompting fans to gather and wait for nature to reveal the answer.
Moments after teasing the stunt on Instagram Stories with the phrase “Release Inside,” Drake shared the exact location—81 Bond Street—turning the reveal into a physical countdown. The block, positioned in a downtown parking area, appears to encase a central object believed to hold the date tied to ICEMAN. Crowds quickly formed, with fans speculating on how long it could take before the secret is exposed.
Weather conditions suggest patience will be required. As of April 20, temperatures in Toronto hovered around 5°C (41°F). Overnight forecasts project a drop to -1°C (30°F), while cloud cover limits direct sunlight—one of the key accelerators in melting large ice structures. Under those conditions, a professional-grade block of this size could take between three and five days to fully melt without intervention.
A shift is expected midweek. Forecasts indicate temperatures rising to 9°C (48°F) on April 21 and reaching 15°C (59°F) by April 22, which could significantly speed up the process. If those projections hold, visibility of the hidden object may improve by Wednesday evening, with a potential full reveal by Thursday morning. For now, the installation remains largely intact, with only faint outlines of the inner object visible beneath thick layers of ice.
This activation extends a rollout that has leaned heavily on visual symbolism rather than direct announcements. Earlier in April, Drake posted imagery of frozen courtside seats at Scotiabank Arena, followed by cryptic phrases and fragments of unreleased music across livestreams labeled Iceman: Episode 1–3. Tracks such as “What Did I Miss?” and “Which One” featuring Central Cee have surfaced without confirmed placement on the album.
