Dermot Kennedy has rewritten UK chart history. The Irish singer-songwriter lands at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart with The Weight of the Woods, becoming the first Irish solo act to open their career with three consecutive chart-topping studio albums.

Released last week, The Weight of the Woods completes a rare streak that began with 2019’s Without Fear and continued with 2022’s Sonder. No other Irish solo artist has achieved a three-album run of debuts at No. 1, placing Kennedy in a distinct position within the UK market. The project also leads multiple format-specific rankings, finishing as the week’s best-selling vinyl release on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart and topping the Official Record Store Chart, a metric driven by independent retailers.

Across the wider chart, Harry Styles continues to build momentum as his fourth studio album Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. climbs two spots to No. 4. Movement further down the Top 10 reflects the impact of festival season, with Sabrina Carpenter returning to the upper tier as Man’s Best Friend surges 14 places to No. 9 ahead of her headline set at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

At the summit of the singles chart, Sam Fender and Olivia Dean extend their run with “Rein Me In,” holding No. 1 for a fourth consecutive week and a seventh overall following its BRIT Awards win.
