BLACKPINK has made a powerful comeback with their fresh new single “Jump.” Marking the K-pop girl group’s first release since their 2022 album Born Pink, the track fuses hardstyle energy, synth-pop, EDM, and a cinematic western guitar riff—an unexpected shift from BLACKPINK’s signature pop sound. Helping bring this eclectic mix of genres to life were producers Diplo, 24, Boaz van de Beatz, Zecca, Ape Drums, and Jumpa.
Notably, “Jump” samples DJ Da Hool’s 1997 techno-rave classic “Meet Her at the Loveparade.” However, many fans have noticed similarities between the song and another ’90s dance hit: “We Like to Party” by Vengaboys. The vibe, energy, and electronic feel of “Jump” recall the Vengaboys’ signature sound. Still, while the upbeat rhythm may feel familiar, BLACKPINK’s “Jump” does not directly sample or interpolate “We Like to Party.”
