Dua Lipa’s fans are in for a treat as her new single, “Houdini,” gets closer to its release date. The 28-year-old pop sensation has been dropping hints about her upcoming musical era, and the latest clue came on Halloween, October 31.
In a new teaser, Dua Lipa previewed her new track, and at the end of the clip, she displayed a sequence of numbers: 4 8 9 9 14 15 21. Swift-witted fans quickly deciphered the enigma, unveiling the song’s title: “Houdini.” While Dua Lipa hasn’t shared the exact release date, it’s apparent that we won’t have to wait long to enjoy fresh material from the star.
Adding to the excitement, Spotify seems to have spilled the beans on the release date. A pop-up on the platform left no room for speculation, stating, “Dua Lipa’s new single ‘Houdini’ drops on November 9th. Listen on repeat with Spotify Premium.” That means the song will be out in just eight days, making its grand debut next Friday.
This track will serve as the lead single from Dua Lipa’s forthcoming album. She confirmed the album’s creation last summer, with an anticipated release date in 2024. In an interview with New York Magazine, Dua Lipa hinted at a new sound inspired by the psychedelic vibes of the 1970s, although the record will maintain its pop essence.
Dua Lipa’s previous album, “Future Nostalgia,” took the music world by storm when it dropped in 2020, becoming one of the best-selling albums of the year with over 3 million units sold. The LP featured hits like “Levitating,” “Don’t Start Now,” and “Love Again.” In 2021, “Future Nostalgia” earned her a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album and a Brit Award for British Album of the Year.
