Jay-Z kicked off the final leg of his JAŸ-Z30 celebration on October 23, bringing his three-decade catalog to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, for the first of two sold-out nights. The roughly two-hour performance featured career-defining hits, special guests and a standout appearance by his daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who joined him on piano for two songs.
Opening with “Hovi Baby,” the rapper moved through an extensive retrospective spanning his influential albums and biggest commercial successes. “Izzo (H.O.V.A.),” “Run This Town,” “99 Problems,” “Empire State of Mind,” “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” and “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)” were among the highlights, turning the stadium into a celebration of a catalog that has shaped hip-hop since the mid-1990s.

Blue Ivy provided one of the night’s most memorable moments, joining her father on piano for “The Story of O.J.” and “Dead Presidents.” Elsewhere, Scarface appeared for “This Can’t Be Life” and “Mind Playing Tricks on Me,” while DJ Khaled and John Legend helped close the show with “God Did.”
The production also revisited familiar imagery from the JAŸ-Z30 tour, including an opening visual featuring Beyoncé shaving Jay-Z’s head. The Los Angeles performance paid tribute to the city’s musical history, with nods to the late Nipsey Hussle, while Destiny’s Child members were among the high-profile attendees.
The SoFi Stadium dates mark the culmination of an unusually active year for the rapper, who largely stepped away from headlining live shows after his 2017 4:44 tour. His return began in late May, when he headlined Philadelphia’s Roots Picnic for his first major concert performance in seven years. In July, he played three sold-out nights at Yankee Stadium, commemorating the 30th anniversary of his debut album Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint, before taking the celebration to London and Paris.
The JAŸ-Z30 series has also expanded beyond the stage through an eight-episode HBO docuseries examining his catalog. Together, the concerts and documentary revisit the evolution of an artist whose influence extends across music, business and popular culture. With the Los Angeles shows bringing this chapter toward its conclusion, attention has also turned to the possibility of Jay-Z appearing at the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show at the same stadium, although no performance has been confirmed.
