EsDeeKid has never been shy about protecting his artistic vision, and his latest comments make that stance unmistakably clear. The Liverpool rapper publicly criticized The Chainsmokers newly released remix of “4 Raws,” voicing sharp disapproval over both the sound and its official release across digital platforms.

Taking to X shortly after the remix surfaced, EsDeeKid wrote, “that chainsmokers remix is getting NUKED mate wow,” before adding a more direct message: “please don’t remix my sh*t and think it’s cool to post to all DSPs.” The posts quickly circulated among fans, sparking debate around remix culture, artist consent, and creative control in the streaming era.

The reaction arrives at a particularly visible moment in EsDeeKid’s career. Just weeks earlier, the rapper leaned into one of the internet’s most persistent music rumors with the release of “4 Raws (Remix),” officially featuring Timothée Chalamet. The track served as a tongue-in-cheek conclusion to months of speculation linking the Hollywood actor to the masked UK artist.

That mystery had been building since the fall, fueled by a coy Heart FM interview in which Chalamet teased fans with a “no comment” response. While UK rap journalists largely dismissed the theory, the discourse amplified EsDeeKid’s profile and cemented his place in digital music culture.

Musically, the momentum is real. His debut album Rebel charted across the UK and Europe, while tracks like “Phantom” and the original “4 Raws” have racked up tens of millions of streams. Against that backdrop, the rapper’s frustration appears rooted less in exposure and more in principle.
