As 2024 comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on a year filled with groundbreaking releases and chart-topping triumphs. This year, the Billboard 200 became a battleground for established legends and rising stars, showcasing an eclectic mix of genres—spanning pop, hip-hop, K-pop, and country.

Taylor Swift, a perennial chart-topper, continued her dominance with 1989 (Taylor’s Version)—the first No. 1 album of the year—and her latest masterpiece, The Tortured Poets Department, which shattered records with an incredible 17 weeks at No. 1. Morgan Wallen solidified his status as a country powerhouse with One Thing at a Time, while 21 Savage’s American Dream became 2024’s first chart-topping rap album.

The year also brought its share of surprises. Eminem’s The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) marked a triumphant farewell to his iconic alter ego, while Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s Vultures 1 turned heads. Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine and Beyoncé’s genre-defying Cowboy Carter showcased the enduring strength of pop royalty, while K-pop sensations Stray Kids (Hop and Ate) and ATEEZ (Golden Hour: Part 2) further solidified the genre’s global impact.

As we bid farewell to an iconic year, here are all the albums that topped the Billboard 200 in 2024.
