Lil Wayne has issued a public apology after failing to appear at the opening night of his 20+ Years of Carter Classics Tour in Bangor, Maine. The rapper addressed fans directly via Instagram Stories, confirming that the missed June 30, 2026 show at Maine Savings Amphitheater will now be rescheduled to July 28, 2026.

The absence left thousands of attendees without the advertised headlining set, despite a night that initially unfolded as planned with 2 Chainz performing in the supporting slot.

In his message, Wayne wrote, “My Maine fans I’m so sorry… The show is being rescheduled to July 28. Please hold on to your tickets, they will be honored for the rescheduled date.” He followed with a second post that leaned into his long-standing fan relationship, adding, “I ain’t sh*t without you. I can’t wait to come back and give you the show you deserve.”

The apology arrives after hours of confusion inside the venue. Doors opened at 5:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 7:00 p.m., and Wayne was originally scheduled to take the stage around 10:45 p.m. Shortly after 11:00 p.m., audience members were informed that the concert had ended and the headliner would not appear. No immediate explanation was provided by the artist, his team, or promoters in the hours that followed.

Frustration quickly spread across social media, with fans pointing to the lack of communication and the fact that many had traveled long distances, including from outside Maine and parts of Canada.

The Bangor date was intended as the official launch of Wayne’s 20+ Years of Carter Classics Tour, an expanded continuation of the Tha Carter VI Tour era. Announced in March 2026, the extension celebrates two decades of the Carter album series and is scheduled to run through October 23, 2026, with select appearances from 2 Chainz and The Game.

The original Tha Carter VI Tour supported Wayne’s June 6, 2025 album release and included 36 North American shows, kicking off with a landmark solo headlining debut at Madison Square Garden on release night.
