KATSEYE are addressing ongoing speculation surrounding Manon Bannerman’s hiatus, making it clear that there is no conflict behind the scenes. In a new cover story with Vanity Fair, the group dismissed rumors of internal tension while reaffirming their support for their absent bandmate.
Lara Raj spoke directly about the bond shared by the six members, pushing back against online narratives suggesting Manon’s months-long absence has created division within the group.
“The safest space that we had was within the six of us,” Lara told Vanity Fair. “People just have no idea what goes on. They just don’t. It’s nothing but love between us.”
The comments mark the latest effort by KATSEYE to reassure fans that Manon remains an important part of the group despite stepping away from activities earlier this year. Bannerman has been on hiatus since February 20, 2026, when HYBE x Geffen announced she would temporarily suspend promotions to prioritize her health and well-being.
Since then, questions about her future have surfaced repeatedly, especially as KATSEYE has continued promoting as five members. The group, however, has consistently referred to itself as a six-member act.
Last week, Sophia echoed that message during an interview with Allure, emphasizing that Manon’s recovery should not be rushed.
“Because we did announce that it is about her well-being, it’s not our place or anybody else’s place to rush her,” Sophia said. “We love her and the fans love her. The people love her. They love KATSEYE.”
She also acknowledged fans’ concerns while asking for patience. “If I was in their place I would be asking too, and so we understand,” she added.
Earlier this month, Sophia offered another update, confirming that Manon remains on hiatus while stressing that the members continue supporting her.
“We continue supporting her and ensuring that she keeps taking care of her well-being,” Sophia said at the time. She also admitted that moving forward without all six members has been emotionally challenging, noting that KATSEYE was built together as a complete unit.
Despite Manon’s absence, the group’s momentum has only accelerated throughout 2026. KATSEYE performed on Coachella’s Sahara Stage in April, earned multiple victories at the 2026 American Music Awards and continued releasing new music, including the collaborative single “ICONIC BY MISTAKE” alongside LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT.
The group is now preparing for the release of its upcoming EP, WILD, arriving on August 14, before launching the sold-out WILDWORLD Tour across North America and Europe later this year.
