Taylor Swift has reclaimed a spot in the Billboard 200’s upper tier, as her 2024 release The Tortured Poets Department makes a return to the top 10. The album jumps from No. 18 to No. 10 on the chart, earning 30,500 equivalent album units in the United States — an 18% boost compared to the previous week.
Released in April 2024, The Tortured Poets Department quickly became one of the biggest albums of the 2020s. The record spent 17 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1, fueled by massive sales and Taylor Swift’s unstoppable presence on streaming platforms. The surge comes directly after the Grammy-winning singer’s announcement of her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, set for release on October 3. Shortly after, she revealed the full tracklist, sending social media into a frenzy — especially following the reveal of Sabrina Carpenter’s appearance on the record.
