Olivia Rodrigo’s highly anticipated sophomore studio album, ‘GUTS,’ is set to drop tonight, September 8th. The album has been preceded by two top 10 singles, ‘vampire’ and ‘bad idea right?’ The former marked Olivia’s return following the success of her debut album, ‘SOUR,’ and has achieved commercial success, topping charts in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, and the US.

The singer revealed to Billboard that ‘vampire’ was chosen as the lead single from her new album because “it felt like an evolution,” honoring her singer-songwriter roots. The song has garnered critical acclaim and received five nominations at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, including Video of the Year and Song of the Year.

On August 11th, Olivia released ‘bad idea right?’ as the album’s second single. Like ‘vampire,’ this song was co-written with Olivia’s loyal producer, Dan Nigro. The 20-year-old star stated that the track “shows another side of ‘GUTS’ that’s a little more fun and playful.”

Regarding the album itself, Olivia Rodrigo shared that she began working on ‘GUTS’ in 2022 at the age of 19, capturing a period of “confusion, mistakes, awkwardness and good old fashioned teen angst.” She also hinted at a personal and musical growth, “grew 10 years between the ages of 18 and 20,” she stated. The album’s cover art maintains the purple color scheme, albeit in a slightly darker shade, reminiscent of her debut album, ‘SOUR.’

‘GUTS’ will feature a total of 12 tracks with a runtime of 39 minutes and 12 seconds. The seventh track, ‘Logical,’ is the longest at 3 minutes and 51 seconds, while ‘Love Is Embarrassing’ is the shortest at 2 minutes and 34 seconds.

We’re all eagerly awaiting the release of ‘GUTS,’ and in just a few hours, Olivia Rodrigo’s second album will be here!
