Released on September 26, Here for It All marks Carey’s first studio album in seven years, following 2018’s Caution. Issued through her Mariah imprint in partnership with Gamma, the 11-track record blends R&B with disco, soul, and gospel influences. It reflects not only Carey’s musical versatility but also her personal growth over the past decade.
The project highlights a rawer side of the superstar. Lead singles like “Type Dangerous,” which samples Eric B. & Rakim’s 1986 classic, and “Sugar Sweet” set the tone ahead of release. The record features a star-studded lineup of guest appearances from Anderson .Paak, Kehlani, Shenseea, and the Clark Sisters. On streaming platforms, the comeback has been strong. The album debuted with more than 2 million streams on Spotify in its first day.
While Carey led the poll with ease, the week also saw major releases from other stars. Doja Cat’s Vie showcased a pivot to polished, ’80s-inspired pop, contrasting the raw rap sound of her 2023 album Scarlet. The 15-track set includes lead single “Jealous Type” and a video for “Gorgeous.” Tate McRae surprised fans with “Tit for Tat,” a biting pop single released the same day, widely seen as a direct response to ex-boyfriend The Kid Laroi’s breakup track “A Cold Play.” Perrie Edwards, formerly of Little Mix, delivered her long-awaited solo debut Perrie. Influenced by rock ’n’ roll, Motown, disco, and country, the 16-track album earned strong buzz, led by singles like “Forget About Us” and “If He Wanted to He Would.”
