The 67th Annual Grammy Awards are just around the corner, with the ceremony set to take place this Sunday, February 2nd. As the most prestigious award in music history, the Grammys celebrate outstanding achievements over the past year. The most coveted honor of the night is undoubtedly Album of the Year, an award that reflects not only a project’s commercial success and impact during the eligibility year but also cements the artist’s name in music history. The award is shared among the entire team behind the full-length album, including the artist, producers, engineers, mixers, and songwriters.
In true Grammy fashion, the announcement of the 2025 Album of the Year nominees sparked plenty of discussion around snubs and surprises. Despite the commercial and critical success of Eternal Sunshine, fans were outraged when Ariana Grande failed to secure a nomination in the category. On the flip side, there were unexpected surprises, including André 3000’s debut solo album, New Blue Sun, earning him a nomination, and English musician Jacob Collier’s Djesse Vol. 4 making the cut. With Grammy night fast approaching, here is our prediction for the Album of the Year winner.

WINNER: BRAT by Charli XCX
Charli XCX’s BRAT is our top prediction for Album of the Year. The album achieved massive success and quickly became a cultural phenomenon. It has been widely praised for its dynamic production, which pushes the boundaries of experimental pop, resulting in what Charli herself describes as an “aggressive and confrontational record.” With its rave-inspired sound, BRAT is both a high-energy dance album and an introspective exploration of personal themes, creating a rollercoaster of emotions for listeners. These elements make BRAT the perfect recipe for a Grammy win in this category.
Strong Contenders
• The Tortured Poets Department by Taylor Swift
When Taylor Swift is in the running for Album of the Year, her chances are always high. She’s the only artist in history to win this award four times. With its commercial success and cultural impact, The Tortured Poets Department is a strong contender to secure her fifth win.
• Hit Me Hard and Soft by Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish’s third studio album is a masterclass in production, songwriting, and emotional depth, all elevated by Billie’s exceptional voice. Hit Me Hard and Soft was crowned the best album of 2024 by InMusic for a reason, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Billie takes home her second Album of the Year Grammy, following her 2020 win for When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
• Cowboy Carter by Beyoncé
Queen Bey leads this year’s nominations and is now the most-nominated artist in Grammy history. Her first country album, Cowboy Carter, was one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2024 and is also up for Best Country Album. While the album may not be the frontrunner, Beyoncé’s six-time streak of being nominated without winning in this category might finally come to an end.
• New Blue Sun by André 3000
The Grammys are known for delivering surprises, and André 3000’s New Blue Sun could pull off an upset. With its experimental and deeply personal approach, the album’s nomination alone was a shock—but an unexpected win wouldn’t be out of the question.
