In a recent exchange on X/Twitter, Halsey answered fans’ questions about her upcoming tour. One fan asked, “Are the old/previous album songs staying in their decades-revamped sounds?” Halsey responded, “All I can say is that this isn’t gonna be the TGI tour. It’s something completely different 🙂.” Another fan jumped into the conversation, asking, “Does this mean we’ll get old OLD songs? Or what? Bestie, omg.” At this point, Halsey surprised fans by revealing new music is on the way, replying, “Definitely old songs. And new ones too! And even the one I’m dropping next week.”
Halsey released The Great Impersonator in October 2024, an album that explores her recent struggles and health challenges, including diagnoses of lupus and T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. The record delves into themes of fame, identity, and personal hardship, drawing inspiration from music icons spanning the 1970s to the 2010s. Blending genres such as pop, folk, and various rock subgenres, The Great Impersonator pays homage to artists like Britney Spears, Deftones, Bruce Springsteen, Dolly Parton, and Fiona Apple. To support the album, Halsey announced For My Last Trick: The Tour, which kicks off in May 2025.
