Over the past few years, we’ve witnessed the rise of Ice Spice, and part of her journey has been shaped by the support of a pop icon like Taylor Swift. In a new interview with Nylon, the Bronx star shared a simple but powerful piece of advice Swift once gave her: “Taylor said, ‘As long as you keep making music, everything’s going to be fine.’” The guidance, though brief, reflects the longevity-focused mindset that has defined Taylor’s career for nearly two decades.

The connection between the two artists first became public in May 2023, when Ice Spice joined Taylor Swift on the official remix of “Karma” — the third single from Swift’s tenth album Midnights. Though the rapper was already well known in the industry, their collaboration introduced her to millions of Swifties worldwide, helping her expand her audience beyond hip-hop circles.

The “Karma (Remix)” was a commercial success. It peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and became a highlight of Swift’s Eras Tour, where it closed the setlist every night. The high-concept music video — which saw Swift and Ice Spice embody celestial beings in a fantasy-inspired world — further cemented the collaboration as one of the era’s defining visuals.
