Taylor Swift has made Spotify history with The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, as the four-song expansion of her 2025 album becomes the biggest debut by a deluxe album in the platform’s history. The project generated 40.5 million global streams from just four tracks, with every song landing inside the top four of Spotify’s Daily Global chart.
“Patient Zero” led the charge at No. 1 with 13.709 million streams on its first day, giving Taylor Swift the biggest Spotify debut of 2026 for a female artist. The song trails only BTS’ “Swim,” which opened with roughly 14 million streams, among the biggest song debuts of the year.

The rest of The Encore followed immediately behind. “Cleveland!” debuted at No. 2 with 9.6 million streams, “Pink Clouding” opened at No. 3 with 8.7 million, and “Babylon” entered at No. 4 with 8.4 million. Together, the four tracks accounted for all of the top four positions on Spotify’s Daily Global chart.
The streaming performance continues an unusually fast start for The Encore. Earlier, “Patient Zero” became the most-streamed song by a female artist in a single day on Spotify in 2026, while Taylor Swift also set a new yearly record for the most streams by a female artist in one day.
Digital platforms showed a similar pattern within hours of the project’s release. The Encore reached No. 1 on U.S. iTunes almost immediately, while “Patient Zero” also climbed to No. 1 and replaced Swift’s own “The Fate of Ophelia” at the top. The achievement pushed Swift’s career total to 82 No. 1 songs on U.S. iTunes, the most in the platform’s history.
Apple Music delivered another striking snapshot. Taylor Swift simultaneously occupied the entire U.S. top four with “Patient Zero” at No. 1, “Cleveland!” at No. 2, “Pink Clouding” at No. 3 and “Babylon” at No. 4. The four-song takeover gave The Encore an immediate presence across the major streaming and digital platforms rather than relying on one format.
The Encore came from another studio reunion between Swift, Max Martin and Shellback. About a year after The Life of a Showgirl produced the biggest first week for an album in history, Taylor Swift traveled to Sweden with the longtime collaborators to celebrate the project’s success. That trip eventually turned into another creative session, producing the four songs now released as the deluxe expansion.
“Patient Zero” is also receiving the most elaborate visual rollout of the four tracks. Swift has previewed its upcoming music video with Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson, featuring stark imagery including a bathroom, an underwater sequence and a snowy cemetery. The full video is scheduled to premiere at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27.
