When Does SNL Start Tonight?
The Season 52 premiere of Saturday Night Live begins at 11:30 p.m. ET / 8:30 p.m. PT tonight on NBC.
Viewers can watch the episode live on NBC or Peacock, while Peacock will also carry the episode for next-day streaming.
Who Is Hosting SNL Tonight?
Jalen Brunson will make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut. The New York Knicks point guard enters Studio 8H after a landmark NBA season that saw him win the 2026 NBA Finals MVP while leading the Knicks to their first championship in 53 years.
Brunson also becomes the first active NBA player to host SNL since LeBron James in 2007.
The promotional clips have already established basketball and New York as major themes for the episode. One sketch has Brunson attempting to use his Key to the City to open the Studio 8H door, only to discover that the door pulls rather than pushes. Another promo pairs Brunson and KATSEYE with Marcello Hernández, with the group struggling to “loosen up” for a sillier take.
KATSEYE Makes Its SNL Debut
KATSEYE will serve as the musical guest, marking the group’s first appearance on Saturday Night Live.
The group’s original six-member lineup consists of Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Manon Bannerman, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza and Yoonchae Jeung.
For tonight’s performance, however, KATSEYE is appearing as a four-member lineup featuring Daniela, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae.
The group is expected to perform two songs, as is customary for SNL musical guests. While the exact performance choices will only be confirmed during the broadcast, the current WILD era provides plenty of material, including “Pinky Up,” “Animal,” “Hootie Frutti,” as well as their viral hits “Gnarly” and “Gabriela.”
What Songs Could KATSEYE Perform?
KATSEYE arrives at SNL during the promotional cycle for its third EP, WILD, which was released August 14.
The project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 170,000 equivalent album units, giving KATSEYE its first chart-topping album and marking one of the biggest opening weeks for a girl group in recent years.
Given the timing of the SNL appearance and the group’s ongoing WILDWORLD tour, the episode offers KATSEYE a major U.S. television platform.
Why KATSEYE Is Performing as a Four-Piece
The four-member SNL lineup comes amid a period of reduced activity for KATSEYE.
Manon has been on hiatus since February 2026 for health and wellbeing, while Sophia announced a mental-health hiatus in August and did not participate in the group’s European and U.K. tour dates.
The current four-piece lineup has continued touring, with the European and U.K. leg of the sold-out WILDWORLD arena tour recently concluding. The North American leg begins October 13.
Who Else Is New on SNL Season 52?
Season 52 also introduces two new featured players: Saidah Belo-Osagie, a Queens-born Nigerian American comedian and filmmaker, and Grace Reiter, a Wisconsin-born sketch and TikTok comedian who appeared on Tim Robinson’s The Chair Company.
Ashley Padilla and Jane Wickline have been promoted to repertory players.
The returning cast includes Kenan Thompson, Michael Che, Colin Jost, Mikey Day, Marcello Hernández and Sarah Sherman, among others. Chloe Fineman departed after seven seasons, while Bowen Yang exited during Season 51.
What’s Next for SNL?
The fall schedule already has several major music guests lined up. Dakota Johnson and Turnstile are scheduled for October 3, followed by Shane Gillis and Rosalía on October 10. The Halloween episode on October 31 will feature first-time host Inde Navarrete with Gracie Abrams as musical guest.
