Lady Gaga’s highly anticipated album Mayhem has finally arrived, bringing with it a mix of dance, house, disco, and experimental pop. One of the most talked-about tracks from the album is “Killah,” a collaboration with French producer Gesaffelstein, which samples the melody and guitar riff from David Bowie’s classic hit “Fame.”
This isn’t the first time Gaga has drawn inspiration from “Fame.” The sample was originally used in an early demo of “Babylon,” a song from her 2020 album Chromatica. However, the final version of “Babylon” featured a different production style, and the demo was ultimately scrapped. Now, “Killah” revives the sample in a new way, blending Gesaffelstein’s signature dark electronic beats with Gaga’s powerful vocals.
