LØLØ starts the new year by stepping into a new era. Today (January 16), the Toronto-born pop-rock artist returns with “007,” a punchy and cinematic new single that officially launches the rollout for her sophomore album, god forbid a girl spits out her feelings, due out Friday, April 17, via Fearless Records.
Built on driving guitars, tightly coiled tension, and commanding vocals, “007” captures LØLØ at her most self-assured. Written alongside Brian Dales of The Summer Set, Taylor Acorn, and Danen Reed Rector, the song balances confessional lyricism with explosive energy. Sonically, “007” is a sleek pop-rock track with a cinematic tone, but the emotional core of the lyrics remains unmistakably personal. The song arrives alongside an accompanying music video, which you can watch here.
That same duality shapes the entire 13-track project. god forbid a girl spits out her feelings expands on the raw world LØLØ began carving out on her debut, blending vulnerability, dark humor, and sharp-edged alt-rock. Collaborators include Andrew Goldstein, known for his work with blink-182 and Avril Lavigne, and DCF, who has worked with Royal & the Serpent and UPSAHL. “007” arrives as the fourth single off the record, following previously released songs “me with no shirt on,” “american zombie,” and “the devil wears converse.”
LØLØ has been open about the personal shift behind the record. Where her debut wrestled with emotional detachment, this album embraces discomfort. She describes it as learning to live inside every messy, inconvenient feeling, stripping things back to their core. “This next one is what happens when I start embracing every messy, scary, and inconvenient feeling of being human,” LØLØ explains. “I’ve stripped things back—both sonically and physically—just a girl, her pen, and her guitar. This album is about learning, losing, falling in love, falling apart, and refusing to apologize for any of it. Every song is diaristic, ripped straight from the pages of my journal, chronicling every intrusive or delusional thought, every downward spiral that goes on in the labyrinth I call my mind. It’s me, spilling my guts in real time to cope.”
Beyond the new single and the sophomore album announcement, there’s more to come. LØLØ will announce new overseas headline tour dates on Monday, January 19, continuing momentum built through festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Sad Summer, Slam Dunk, Download, Rock Am Ring, and Warped Tour, as well as collaborations with Simple Plan and Maggie Lindemann.
