Leading up to the album, Megan has released a string of snake-themed singles: “Cobra,” “Hiss,” and “Boa,” with “Hiss” topping the Billboard Hot 100. The latest single, “Boa,” which samples Gwen Stefani’s “What You Waiting For?”, was released on May 10th and received acclaim from fans for its nostalgic music video and references to 2000s pop culture. Megan explained the reason behind the snake theme, revealing that the album will explore themes of renewal and rebirth. “Megan” marks her third album but the first released independently. Following her departure from 300 Entertainment and 1501 Certified, the Grammy-winning rapper has started to release music under her own label, Hot Girl Productions, and revealed that the music videos are fully self-funded.
In support of the album, Megan embarked on her first headlining tour, the Hot Girl Summer Tour, which began on May 14, with GloRilla as the opening act. Each show is securing massive success, and overall, the Hot Girl Summer Tour has sold more than 200,000 tickets.
