BEST COLLABORATION & BEST POP
Winner: “Die With a Smile” by Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars are expected to sweep this year’s VMAs with their massive collaboration. “Die With a Smile,” already our frontrunner for Song of the Year, will likely claim both Best Collaboration and Best Pop. Since both categories are fan-voted, Gaga and Bruno’s huge global fanbases give them a strong edge.
For Best Collaboration, ROSÉ and Bruno’s “APT.” could challenge, while Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “Luther” is also in contention.
• Strong contenders (Best Collaboration): “Luther” by Kendrick Lamar & SZA, “APT.” by ROSÉ & Bruno Mars
• Strong contenders (Best Pop): “APT.” by ROSÉ & Bruno Mars, “Manchild” by Sabrina Carpenter, “Ordinary” by Alex Warren, “Brighter Days Ahead” by Ariana Grande
BEST POP ARTIST
Winner: Ariana Grande
Despite securing 12 nominations, Lady Gaga was surprisingly left out of the Best Pop Artist category. This year’s lineup is almost entirely female, with Justin Bieber as the only male nominee. Our frontrunner is Ariana Grande, who had an excellent Eternal Sunshine era, capped off by the Brighter Days Ahead edition.
• Strong contenders: Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae
