Olivia Rodrigo may have just offered her clearest hint yet about the status of her next album. Under a recent Instagram post from longtime collaborator Dan Nigro, Rodrigo appeared to suggest that new material has already been shared with her label, Interscope Records. Nigro captioned the photo simply, “Finishing records…” The understated tease was enough to send fans into speculation.
The producer has been instrumental in shaping Rodrigo’s sound, from her 2021 debut SOUR to 2023’s GUTS, both of which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Their creative partnership has become one of modern pop’s most consistent alliances, delivering major hits from “drivers license” to “good 4 u.”
Commercially, Rodrigo remains at a career peak. GUTS produced major hits, including “Vampire” and “Bad Idea Right?” and its accompanying world tour grossed more than $200 million globally. Against that backdrop, expectations for a third album are inevitably high.
