The People’s Choice Country Awards are taking place tonight for their second annual ceremony. The first edition of this show was introduced last year to specifically honor achievements in the country music genre. Who are the nominees?
The nominations for the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards were announced in early August. Zach Bryan leads the pack with 19 nominations, including The People’s Artist of 2024 and The Album of 2024. Close behind is Beyoncé (17), whose first country album, Cowboy Carter, is up for The Album of 2024. Kacey Musgraves follows closely with 15 nominations. Notably, six new categories have been added this year: Female Song, Male Song, Group/Duo Song, Cover Song, New Artist Song, and Storyteller Song.
Special Honors
Two special awards will be presented during the night. Miranda Lambert will receive the Country Icon Award, celebrating her career and contributions to the country genre. Additionally, Kane Brown will be honored with the Country Champion Award.
