NCT WISH are set to return with their fourth mini album, I SPY, on October 12 through SM Entertainment, marking the group’s first new Korean release since their debut full-length album Ode to Love. The six-track project will arrive at 6 p.m. KST across streaming platforms, with physical editions available on the same day.

Led by the title track “I SPY,” the mini album is expected to push NCT WISH’s bright musical identity into a more mature direction. SM Entertainment describes the release as a project that explores a wider range of sounds and emotions while reflecting the six-member group’s continued development.

The announcement arrives six months after Ode to Love, which became NCT WISH’s third consecutive million-selling album and established new career highs across physical and digital charts. That run followed the group’s second mini album poppop and third mini album COLOR.

Their momentum has also extended to Japan. The July Japanese single album YO-I-DON! / BOY MEETS GIRL surpassed 500,000 units in shipments and earned Double Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.

Ahead of I SPY, NCT WISH introduced the “Confused Boy” trailer, opening another chapter of the group’s ongoing WISH LAND storyline. The cinematic visual follows SION, RIKU, YUSHI, JAEHEE, RYO and SAKUYA as they encounter a mysterious presence called “energy” and experience unfamiliar feelings of excitement.

When the energy suddenly disappears, the members begin a search to reconnect with it. Their journey forces them to confront emotions they have not previously understood, setting up a narrative that will continue with the new mini album.

As the latest and final chapter in the NCT universe, NCT WISH were formed around the message “WISH for Our WISH,” connecting their music to themes of dreams, optimism and human connection. Based in Japan while promoting across Korea and international markets, the group has developed its own interpretation of NCT’s “NEO” identity through a warmer and more refreshing sound.

That identity is also reflected in “WISH CORE,” the group’s visual aesthetic built around wings, stars, glitter, Y2K references and fairytale-inspired imagery. Grammy previously named NCT WISH among its “11 Rookie K-Pop Acts To Know in 2024,” while the group recorded the highest album sales among rookie artists in Korea that year.
