An unexpected reunion unfolded in Orlando as Selena Gomez attended Demi Lovato’s It’s Not That Deep Tour opener on April 13. The moment quickly resonated beyond the arena, with Gomez publicly praising the show and signaling a renewed connection between the two longtime peers.
Sharing her reaction on Instagram shortly after the concert at the Kia Center, Gomez wrote: “I am in tears Demi Lovato this was hands down one of the best shows. Oh and the VOCALS? Psh blown away.”
Photos taken backstage further fueled attention, showing the two artists together following the performance. Both have also re-followed each other on Instagram, a small but telling update that fans quickly interpreted as a sign of reconciliation. Their relationship had cooled publicly around 2018, when the pair unfollowed each other after years of shared history dating back to their early Disney-era careers.
The timing of Gomez’s appearance added weight to the tour’s launch. Lovato’s opening night in Orlando marked her first full-scale headlining run in nearly four years, supporting her newly released album It’s Not That Deep. The 11-track project, released in October 2025, leans into a brighter, pop-driven sound following the rock influences of 2022’s Holy Fvck and the reimagined catalog presented on 2023’s Revamped.
Lovato opened the night with “Fast” and “Kiss.” A surprise appearance from Joe Jonas added another nostalgic nod to her Disney years, as the two performed “This Is Me” and “On the Line.”
