Tame Impala has officially released Deadbeat, the long-awaited fifth studio album from Kevin Parker, available now (October 17) via Columbia Records. The 12-track record marks Tame Impala’s first full-length project since 2020’s The Slow Rush, signaling a return to Parker’s lush, experimental sound that continues to push the boundaries of modern psychedelic pop.
Spanning just under an hour, Deadbeat reflects a matured yet restless version of Parker’s artistry. Written and recorded between his Wave House Studio in Injidup and his home base in Fremantle, Australia, the album draws inspiration from Western Australia’s “bush doof” rave culture—an underground movement blending electronic beats and open-air psychedelia.

The album opens with “My Old Ways,” released as a single alongside the record. It’s followed by standout tracks like “Dracula,” a dark, and “Loser,” the album’s second single, which arrived with a cinematic video starring Stranger Things actor and musician Joe Keery.
“End of Summer,” the 7-minute closer, completes the record’s arc with shimmering synths and reflective lyrics. The track debuted in July through a surprise vinyl drop that sent fans into a frenzy. The album’s visual identity adds another layer of intimacy. The cover art features Parker alongside his young daughter, Peach.
Following weeks of cryptic teasers, metadata leaks, and unmarked vinyl listings, Deadbeat has officially landed on streaming platforms worldwide.
