Originally released on September 15, 2023, through RCA Records, “Greedy” arrived as the lead single from McRae’s second studio album Think Later. The song was co-written by McRae alongside Amy Allen, Jasper Harris, and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, with production handled by Harris, Tedder, and Grant Boutin. Blending pop, dance-pop, and R&B influences, the track quickly struck a chord worldwide with its unapologetic energy.

From the moment it dropped, “Greedy” was a global success. It shot straight to number one in several countries, topped the charts in Canada and Austria, and landed in the top 10 in over 20 countries including the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, and Australia. On the Billboard Hot 100, the single peaked at number three, becoming Tate’s highest-charting hit in America to date. It also dominated Pop Airplay, spending eight weeks at number one and later earning the title of the year’s biggest song on the chart in 2024.
