Taylor Swift has reclaimed the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart as The Life of a Showgirl returns to No. 1 this week, ending a brief two-week break from the summit. The album, released in October, now celebrates seven non-consecutive weeks at the top. It becomes Taylor’s fourth longest-running No. 1 in the country, sitting behind Midnights (16 weeks), 1989 (Taylor’s Version) (14 weeks) and The Tortured Poets Department (eight weeks), the latter of which also rises from No. 21 to No. 16 this week.
Swift’s return to No. 1 comes after being temporarily dethroned by 5 Seconds of Summer’s Everyone’s a Star! and Wicked: For Good Soundtrack, both of which held the top spot across the past two weeks.
Ed Sheeran also makes a significant upward move. The release of the deluxe edition of Play sends the project from No. 19 to No. 13. The album debuted at No. 1 in September, marking Sheeran’s eighth chart-topping release in Australia.
On the Singles Chart, Olivia Dean continues her impressive run as “Man I Need” holds at No. 1 for the third consecutive week. Elsewhere on the chart, a revised version of “I Run” by British producer HVN debuts at No. 9. The original version peaked at No. 8 in October before being removed from several streaming platforms due to claims of AI-generated vocals. This updated release features British singer Kaitlin Aragon and restores the track’s momentum with an official, fully cleared recording.
