Taylor Swift has officially made music history once again. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) confirmed a major wave of certification updates across her catalog this week, pushing the pop icon past 100 million certified album units in the United States. With the milestone, Swift becomes the first and only female artist ever to reach this mark.

The update brings fresh platinum counts to nearly all of Swift’s records. Her blockbuster 1989 now leads the pack at 14x Platinum, surpassing Fearless (11x Platinum), which had long been her top seller. Other highlights include Red (8x Platinum), her self-titled debut Taylor Swift (8x Platinum), and The Tortured Poets Department (8x Platinum), which only arrived in April 2024 and quickly became one of her fastest-selling projects.

More recent works also saw significant boosts: Midnights and Lover both stand at 7x Platinum, while Folklore and Red (Taylor’s Version) have climbed to 6x Platinum. Even her more experimental albums, Evermore (4x Platinum) and Reputation (7x Platinum), continue to rack up sales years after release.

The certification surge highlights not only Swift’s ability to dominate with new music but also the enduring power of her back catalog, bolstered by the success of her re-recordings. 1989 (Taylor’s Version), Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), and Fearless (Taylor’s Version) all earned 4x Platinum status in this latest update.

The timing couldn’t be better. Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl, arrives October 3, via Republic Records. In recent behind-the-scenes footage, she revealed the luxury-inspired visual concept and physical packaging, which include exclusive photo cards, unique poems in each vinyl edition, and a high-gloss finish designed to capture “the glamour of a showgirl on stage.”

The 12-track record—her twelfth studio album—features a much-anticipated title track collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter and will be accompanied by The Release Party of a Showgirl, a special theatrical event running October 3–5.
