Taylor Swift has reached another unprecedented streaming milestone. The Tortured Poets Department has officially surpassed 10 billion streams on Spotify, making Swift the first artist in history to have six different albums cross the 10-billion-stream mark on the platform.

Released on April 19, 2024, through Republic Records, The Tortured Poets Department quickly became one of the defining albums of the decade. The project arrived alongside its surprise double-album companion, The Anthology, which expanded the record to 31 tracks and fueled one of the biggest streaming debuts ever recorded.

With the latest milestone, The Tortured Poets Department joins an exclusive group within Swift’s own discography. Lover remains her most-streamed album on Spotify with more than 14.5 billion streams, followed by Midnights with 12.1 billion, folklore with 11.8 billion, Reputation with 11 billion, and 1989 with 10.6 billion. No other artist has managed to place six albums above the 10-billion threshold.

The album’s commercial impact was immediate upon release. It became the best-selling album globally in 2024 and shattered multiple streaming and sales records across major markets. In the United States, the project marked Swift’s seventh album to debut with more than one million units and her first to surpass two million opening-week units.

Chart performance proved equally historic. The Tortured Poets Department spent 17 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and produced one of the most remarkable chart achievements in modern music history when Swift occupied the entire top 14 positions of the Billboard Hot 100. Lead single “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone, debuted at No. 1 and helped drive the album’s record-breaking launch.

The new Spotify milestone arrives as Swift continues adding to her legacy with fresh achievements. Just this week, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” her contribution to Toy Story 5, debuted at No. 1 in the UK and Australia.
