Tyla has officially entered her next era. The Grammy-winning star announced her sophomore album A-POP, confirming a July 24 release alongside a teaser.
Unveiled on April 22, the 27-second clip pairs a snippet of new music with a sequence of defining keywords—“Dance,” “African,” “Unapologetic,” “Fun,” “For You,” “For Me,” “Confident,” and “Global.” The visual rollout also introduced the official cover, featuring Tyla front and center with the album title set in stark pink, reinforcing a minimalist but assertive aesthetic. Across early details, the project is set to include 14 tracks, with confirmed singles “Is It,” “Chanel,” and “She Did It Again.”
Momentum around the release has been building throughout April. “She Did It Again,” her collaboration with Zara Larsson, arrived last week and opened with over 2.4 million Spotify streams in its first 24 hours. Meanwhile, “Chanel” continues to perform strongly, surpassing 300 million streams and reaching No. 43 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In recent interviews, Tyla has framed A-POP as a direct reflection of personal growth. Speaking to Rolling Stone, she described a noticeable shift from the mindset that shaped her debut. “Me being in it, I feel so different to how I felt during the first album,” she said, pointing to lived experience as the defining factor behind the new material. That contrast reflects a transition from rapid global breakout to a more grounded creative process. “Now that I’m settled in, I feel like I know more of my direction—what I want to do, what I want to say,” she added.
Context around the project reinforces that evolution. Tyla first confirmed the album during the Grammy Awards 2026, where she secured Best African Music Performance for the second time, cementing her position within the global pop conversation.
