The never-before-seen clip was released by The X Factor on their YouTube channel on August 30, 2023.
The previously unseen clip showcases the five members of One Direction – Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik – performing a rendition of Kelly Clarkson’s ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ during their audition for the talent show. The performance impressed all the judges, Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, and Louis Walsh, who rise from their seats to offer a standing ovation.
The clip has already drawn a lot of attention among fans and has surpassed 100,000 views on YouTube. Many fans reminisce about the group’s early days when they were just five young guys with a dream, and how far they’ve come since. ‘They were so young and talented. It’s crazy to think how far they’ve come,’ one wrote, ‘I can’t believe it’s been 13 years since this happened. Time flies,’ another one added.
Although the band didn’t win the UK edition of The X Factor, what followed after the competition was something incredible. The band’s achievements, records, and dedicated fanbase have positioned them as one of the most celebrated and successful groups in music history.
It is clear that the fans are still very passionate about One Direction, even though they have been on hiatus for several years.
