In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lana Del Rey opened up about her viral video at the Waffle House, her albums, and being an inspiration for two talented girls like Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo.

Billie Eilish recently spoke with Dua Lipa in an episode of the ‘At Your Service’ podcast, revealing that Lana Del Rey’s ‘Born To Die’ ‘especially changed music for girls and the potential of what is possible.’

In March, Olivia Rodrigo presented the Visionary Award to Lana Del Rey at the 2023 Billboard Women In Music Awards. When introducing her, Olivia revealed that Lana’s ‘Video Games’ is ‘probably the best love song of all time.’ She also confessed how she admires Lana, her unique voice, and authenticity.

During her interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lana Del Rey was asked about being an inspiration to Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo:

“Billie and Olivia are such good people, it’s fucking awesome. I love them and their music. It’s not like you have to be nice to be good [in music]. But, if you happen to be nice and a great singer, it makes me happy for the culture. I always had girls telling me [things like] that. Maybe not the critics or anybody else — but singers I knew, no matter how big or small, would write me letters. I always felt like the older sister to pretty much everyone I ever met.”

The 38-year-old singer also revealed that her music is taking a significant turn and is going to be more in the Americana genre.

In the interview published by The Hollywood Reporter, Lana Del Rey also discusses various aspects of her life and career, such as the viral video of her working at Waffle House, her music, the evolution of her image, and the possibility of a cover album.
