After nearly five years away from the album format, Baby Keem has returned with Ca$ino, his sophomore effort released February 20, via pgLang and Columbia Records. The 11-track project follows 2021’s The Melodic Blue and sharpens Keem’s identity as a restless, detail-oriented producer-rapper who treats samples as narrative devices rather than decoration.

Ca$ino features appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Too $hort, Momo Boyd and Che Ecru, but some of its most striking moments come from the records it reimagines.

Keem has long used sampling to bend eras together. On Ca$ino, soul, indie, alternative R&B and even Greek art-pop quietly shape the album’s mood.

Below is a breakdown of the key samples identified across the album:

• “Good Flirts” samples “The Light” by Common

• “Highway 95 Pt. 2” samples “I Do Love You” by G.Q.

• “No Security” samples “You Can Have Me” by Natalie Bergman

• “Birds & the Bees” samples “Honey Honey” by Feist

• “No Blame” samples “I Never Learnt to Share” by James Blake

• “House Money” samples “You Know the Feelin’” by Steve Wightman

• “I Am Not a Lyricist” samples “Tha S’ Agapo” by Dimitra Galani
