Doechii used her acceptance speech at the 2026 BET Awards to deliver more than a thank-you message. While accepting the BET Her Award alongside SZA on June 28, the rapper hinted that new music is on the way—and confidently predicted a major impact.
Standing onstage with her trophy, Doechii told the audience: “New music is coming soon, and it’s going to kill everybody. Don’t ever play with me.”
The announcement arrives during another standout year for Doechii. She was also part of the star-studded tribute honoring Ms. Lauryn Hill, performing during the inaugural Living Legend Icon Award presentation at the BET Awards alongside artists including SZA, Tems, Nas, Queen Latifah, Common, Lizzo, Tierra Whack, Rapsody, and Doja Cat.
Her latest comments also build on hints she shared earlier this year regarding upcoming collaborations with Lady Gaga. Speaking at the Los Angeles Fashion Awards in April, Doechii revealed that their creative partnership extends beyond their first official collaboration.
“I’m so excited for all the stuff me and Gaga have coming up next as well,” she said at the time. “So, Monsters get ready. Swamp, get ready. We have so many looks coming. I’m excited!”
That collaboration, “Runway,” arrived on April 6 as part of the promotional campaign for The Devil Wears Prada 2. Produced by Bruno Mars, Andrew Watt, Cirkut, and D’Mile, the song debuted at No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100.
